Why Forced Motherhood
(Abortion)
Is A Religious Freedom Issue

.

.

      Because:
We don’t know  What life Is,°

We don’t know
what the source of life is or how that source functions,
We don’t know   What a Human Being Actually Is,
                We don’t know
When an Independent Human Life Begins,
°

And we have no way to find out.

.

.

The basic abortion question is not about
whether or not there is a physical body in the womb.

It's is not about whether on not
the zygote/ embryo/ fetus is alive, human, and unique
.

   The real question is:

What is
life and where is it located?°

Is life the physical body?
  °

or is life in the spirit which inhabits the physical body?°

The anti-abortion proponents claim that from the moment of conception, the physical matter itself ( zygote /embryo / fetus)  is the independent human being,°   and therefore  abortion is murder.

Is a human being his/her physical body as the fundamentalist Christians claim?   Does God really step in and create a brand new human being EVERY time a human egg and sperm unite?  If the forced motherhood promoters are correct, then abortion is, indeed taking a life, and secular laws are appropriate.   But, they have a serious problem.   They have no way to prove their claims, and there is a far more logical alternative belief.

Is life in the spirit° which enters into and and temporarily uses a physical body to connect to and experience earth-plane reality?  Millions of Christians believe that the Bible is correct when it distinguishes between the physical body and the spirit° which inhabits the body.     Billions of non-fundamentals Christians  believe in reincarnation.°   If these people are correct,  then aborting an embryo is similar to halting work on a construction site, and secular laws prohibiting abortion are nothing more than disguised forms of religious tyranny.se people are correct,  then aborting an embryo is similar to halting work on a construction site, and secular laws prohibiting abortion are nothing more than disguised forms of religious tyranny.

The scientific community tells us that everything thought of as physical is not physical at all -- that everything is energy -- that energy is controlled by consciousness -- that what consciousness is, where it is, and how it functions is still a mystery.   This leaves the conservative fundamentalist Christians with this problem:  How can a human being be a physical body when physical matter does not exist --when there is only energy?

There are widely divergent conflicting beliefs°   about the answers to these questions, and there are no provable answers.°   Thus, the question,  "Is abortion right or wrong?"  belongs the realm of religion and philosophy where it has been hotly debated for centuries.

In a free society, beliefs about reality, including guesswork, conjecture, speculation, and  Medieval religious fairytales°  are not the basis for passing secular laws  which force one group's religious beliefs onto everyone else.   Attempting to do so clearly violates our God-granted and Constitutionally guaranteed religious freedom!

.

.

.

.

Before Legislators Can Ethically

Pass Laws Restricting Abortion,

They Must First Provide Provable

Answers to these Questions:

.

.

1)     What Is Life?°

2)     What Is A Human Being?

2a)    Is the anti-abortionist version of religious one-life-ism
              correct?
Is a human a brand new being

created AS a physical body by God at conception?°

2b)    Are reincarnation religions correct?   Is a human being

an eternal spirit temporarily managing
°
             a human physical body
?°

2c)    Are the atheists correct?°   Are humans only clumps of dust
that have somehow  magically acquired consciousness?

3)     When Does an Independent Human Life Begin?°

.

You can't know the significance of abortion until you can, with provable certainty, answer the above questions and dozens more equally  puzzling and equally unanswerable, religious questions.°   Any conclusions regarding abortion that are turned  into secular law and forced onto people cannot be based only on religious fairytales.°    (More Evidence)°    In order to provide provable answers about what abortion really is and what it means, those answers must be based upon knowledge about God,  and provide provable answers to each of the above religious questions.

Answering the above religious questions is quite literally impossible.    Philosophers, scientists, and religious scholars have been debating these questions for centuries and the only concrete answer they have yet offered is that:

.

When discussing God or religion,
nobody can say with certainty that he or
she is correct and that everyone else is wrong.

.

Your Choice:  You are foolish to believe what we say.   You are equally as foolish if you disbelieve us.  But you are a fool's fool if you simply ignore our message.   We invite you to look at the evidence,  here and elsewhere.   Let the evidence lead you where it will.    Then make up our own mind about how you will respond to the truth.

"Know the truth and the truth will set you free."

.

.

.

.

How Could Abortion  NOT   be a Religious Issue?

.

Look at the Additional Evidence:
On the anti-choice side, there are:  1) the fundamentalist Christians,  2) the conservative Catholics,  3)  the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church, and 4)  the conspicuous absence of anybody who does not fit into the above three categories.

On the pro-choice  side, there is almost everyone else, including millions of open-minded Christians and the vast majority of those who acknowledge the universal spiritual principles.°   For an inclusive list, please see the page titled:  For Whom Do You Speak?°

For a detailed analysis of this issue, please see the pages titled:
Sacred or Secular°      Religion Versus God.° and
How to Keep Abortion Legal°

.

Who Decides:
The forced motherhood leaders
claim to be followers of Jesus.   Jesus said nothing about abortion.   In the absence of conclusive evidence from their religious icon,  who or what are they following?   And how can they force their theology onto the billions who follow other religious philosophies.   They claim God as their authority for opposing abortions, but if their theology is right, then God is the world's most despicable abortionist and baby killer.°    and Genesis 2:7°  and Ecclesiastes 11:5, RSV°  in the Christian Bible must be wrong.

.

.

.

.

What Do We Know?

.

Regarding abortion, we have an abundance of speculations, conjectures, guesswork,  personal opinions and religious proclamations,  but very few facts.   Here are three facts that we do have:

Fact 1:

Sexual intercourse is the one and only cause of unwanted pregnancy.

Fact 2:

Many women and girls find themselves pregnant who don't want to be pregnant.

Fact 3:

What we don't know about God -- about nature -- about of what constitutes a human being far exceeds what we do know.

Some Words of Respected Individuals

.

Albert Einstein

"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one."

.

.

.

And Regarding Abortion,
What Conclusions Can We Draw From This?

.

Your guess is as good as mine!   Draw your own conclusions.   The speculations about the meaning and consequences of abortion push us deeply into the age-old, still-unanswerable, religious questions.   Here are a few more unanswerable questions:

u    We know the anti-abortionists claim He does, but does God really create a brand new soul every time a human egg and  sperm unite?   It’s not in the Bible and here’s no scientific evidence to support it, so where did this belief come from?

u    Do the billions of people who believe in reincarnation have a right to practice their religion?

u    Are we our physical bodies?

u    Are we eternal being who simply inhabit physical bodies?

u    What is this non-physical stuff we call "the mind" or "spirit?"

u    If we are our physical bodies, how do we get to heaven after our body dies?

u    If we are not our physical bodies, what's all this anti-abortion fuss about?

u    What’s the purpose of human life?

u    Why is it that, prior to circa 1870, the Roman Catholic Church said that an independent life began three months after  conception, and now they say that an independent life begins at conception?   Can Divine Truth be arbitrarily changed  at the whims of the Roman Catholic hierarchy?

u    What does Genesis 2:7°  in the Christian Bible actually mean?   Is it correct when it says life as a human being begins with first breath?

u    What about Ecclesiastes 11:5, RSV°  in the Christian Bible?   What does that mean?   How can those who oppose abortion rights know   how "God" works when even their own Bible tells them they  can't know?

u    How can the anti-abortionists adamantly claim religious freedom for themselves while denying that same right to others.

u    And several dozen more equally puzzling and equally unanswerable, religious  questions.

.

.

If God actually does create a brand new human being every time a human egg and sperm unite,  one has to wonder what God does with all those brand new human beings° that get flushed down the worlds toilets along with a woman's monthly menstrual cycle?

.

.

.

        The Previously Ignored Perspective:

.

When you examine the abortion issue from
each of the three possible assumptions about life,

 Atheism,°     Religious One-life-ism,°    and    Reincarnation,°
three very different meanings emerge.

Because present day technology provides no conclusive answers about which one of these three assumptions is correct, we are still left with only speculation, conjecture, guesswork, and personal opinions as to what abortion is and what it means.   Even the technical data°  we do have has to be interpreted as to what it means and that again returns us to speculation, conjecture, guesswork, and personal opinions.

u    Because there are no provable answers to this type of question...

u    Because there are so many different and conflicting opinions...

u    And because these are questions that have been debated primarily in religious circles for centuries.

this  leads us to a most probable conclusion:

.

Abortion  is
Religious  Freedom  Issue!

.

.

"OK.   So What?"  you say.

Well, here’s your answer:

If abortion actually is something quite different from what the public has been told it is, then the beliefs commonly held and the decisions regularly made about abortion could be and probably are inaccurate.

Decisions based:

on only a small portion of the truth,

on distortions of the truth,

on speculation, conjecture, or guess work,

on what momma told us when we were five-years old

on personal religious beliefs

and

on highly emotional rhetoric

are bound to be something quite different from

”The Truth - - The Whole Truth - -
And Nothing but the Truth.”

But Please Don’t Believe Us.

        And don’t disbelieve us either.

Examine the Evidence:

        Come to your own conclusions.
